Agnieszka Baklazec, MA, LPC, LAC

Agnieszka Baklazec, the founder and owner of Amber Counseling, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado. In her private practice, Agnieszka offers individual therapy to teens and adults who struggle with addiction, trauma, anxiety and depression.

Agnieszka provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy for those who would like to address their trauma history.

Agnieszka believes that some of life's events are traumatic enough and difficult enough that we lose sight of who we truly are as people. She believes therapy can help us get to that beautiful state when, even the imperfections, make up for a beautiful human being each of us is.

In her practice she is able to help you work on trauma, addiction, change of life events that include, but are not limited to, starting or dissolving a family, and operating in a family system where conflict is the primary form if interaction.

Clinical Experience

 

Through her work with healthcare professionals, Agnieszka worked with individuals affected by substance use, mental health conditions, vicarious trauma, and burnout. Agnieszka is very comfortable evaluating individuals for their safety to practice and making recommendations so they return to practicing the profession they love so much.

During her work in the correctional facility as well as outpatient clinic setting, Agnieszka worked with individuals, men and women who were affected by significant traumas often, multiple instances of such. She has worked on helping individuals heal and reach their full potential.

Agnieszka has also worked in school systems addressing the needs of teenagers struggling with anxiety and depression as well as substance use.

Aggie Poznanska, LPCC

Agnieszka ’Aggie’ Poznanska, LPCC is a graduate of the Northwestern University Mental Health Counseling Master’s program. She completed her internship at the Polish American Association, where she worked with clients struggling with various addictions, homelessness, domestic violence, and related mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship conflicts. She also completed her clinical internship at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, where she worked with adolescence and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, transitions, relationship issues, and work/life balance, among many other presenting concerns. She is a nationally certified and state-licensed (LPC) clinician from Chicago and holds LPCC status in the state of Colorado.

 

Aggie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Aggie was born and raised in Poland and moved to the United States in 2001. She speaks fluent Polish. Aggie grew up with a family member who was struggling with mental health issues (schizophrenia), which led to her passion for mental health and her desire to help others who are struggling and equipped her with a genuine concern for her clients and their pain.

 

Aggie’s primary focus is to provide comprehensive and effective high-quality holistic and integrated mental health care to her clients and provide a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere and support on the journey to discover a healthier and happier version of yourself. To which she adds creativity, humor and resourcefulness, along with practical solution and concrete goals.

Glory McDaniel, MA, LPCC, LAC, NCC

Glory is a bilingual (English/Spanish) counselor who offers individual, couples and family counseling to clients struggling with substance use disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression to name a few.  Glory offers group counseling for women who have experienced abuse and want to journey toward healing from the effects of trauma.  

 

Glory believe in helping others by providing support, counseling, and educational workshops on various topics such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, anxiety, depression, mental illness, and addiction in both English and Spanish. 

 

Glory’s ultimate career goal is to establish a shelter for abused women and provide them with necessary skills that will empower them to become self-sufficient and live happy, healthy, and prosperous lives.

Troy Thompson, MA, LPC, NCC

Clinical Experience

Troy Thompson is a licensed professional counselor through the State of Colorado and a National Certified Counselor in the US. Troy offers individual and couples counseling to clients who are struggling with addiction, communication, anxiety, or depression to name a few. Troy has experience in treating the complexities of trauma that come from being in the military or being a first responder. Troy himself served in the military and has first responder experience.

Practice Style

My practice style is trauma informed and strength focused. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to meet the needs of my clients and move them towards their definition of a hopeful meaningful life. During the first visit with my clients I focus on getting to know the client and doing what I can to earn their trust.
