Brianna Garrett

Brianna Garrett is an Indiana native and has worked in the mental health field in both Indiana and in the Aurora and Denver communities of Colorado. Brianna graduated from the University of Denver with a master’s degree in international Disaster Psychology that emphasizes Global Mental Health and Trauma. Brianna offers therapeutic services to young adults/teens, adults, and families who are impacted by experienced trauma, societal adversities and hurdles, and other mental health diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, suicidality, and psychosis.

​Practice Style

Brianna holds a narrative approach to which she believes the client is the expert on their own experience. Brianna believes in emphasizing client strengths and self-esteem and heavily focuses on building a safe environment that fosters collaboration with clients. She heavily focuses on both empathy and sympathy to better aid in enabling clients to feel seen in their experiences so that they can build a life they are eager to engage with.

Clinical Experience

Brianna has worked at varying levels in the mental health realm. She first began her journey in Indiana as a Mental Health Technician working with ages 3-65+ in an inpatient level of care with individuals suffering from trauma, suicidality, and psychosis. Upon moving to Denver, Brianna worked in a Residential Home Care facility as Youth Treatment Counselor that aided adolescents in their day-to-day functioning and mental health skills. Since being in Denver and Aurora, Brianna has worked in the school-based setting as a high school therapist and has also worked in substance use addiction services and in the private practice setting working with both adults and adolescents. In each of these settings, Brianna heavily focused on client’s hurdles with differing backgrounds and experiences that have lived trauma, grief and loss, social skill building, interpersonal conflict and boundary building, self-harm and suicidality, and varying levels of abuse. Brianna holds a high regard to each individual’s experience and wants to aid individuals in creating a life worth living.
