At Amber Counseling, we value the work individuals can do to better themselves. Healing and growth is something that can benefit every area of your life. All of our clinicians are committed to help you.

We believe teens need very specific attention and expertise. Two of our clinicians have expertise working with teens and can address a variety of concerns young clients may need to address.

We offer couples therapy to those couples who looking to strength their connection or work on a specific challenge they may be facing. Our clinicians use evidence based approaches to couples therapy to improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection.

We offer family therapy to those who are working to strengthen the family connection or work through conflicts and improve family dynamics. Our clinicians use evidence based approaches to help your family achieve the goals they are working toward. 

Our Goal is The Healing Conversations®. Getting to this place can be very challenging. The emotions felt during the separation, divorce, and while determining parenting time can be incredibly difficult. Reunification therapy is a process. Agnieska Baklazec, MA, LPC, LAC works with every member of the family to get to a place where a healing conversation is possible.

At Amber Counseling, we believe that our healthcare professionals, first responders, and military personnel need specialized set of skills. Your work/your calling has a set of rules and expectations that require specialized training and experience from counselors working with you. Both Troy and Agnieszka have worked with healthcare professionals, first responders and military and feel very confident ensuring nuances related to your careers are addressed and attended to.

We believe trauma needs a specific and tailored treatment approach. It is important to keep in mind every person is different and requires an individualized treatment plan. All of our clinicians are either EMDR trained or are currently undergoing EMDR training. We are equipped to utilize this modality in person and via teletherapy to address your individual needs.

We believe addiction is an illness and requires a specialized set of skills and expertise to be treated. Our clinicians have such training and can help. Whether you or your loved one is looking at stopping using or reducing their use, our clinicians can help determined the best approach based on evidence based practices.

At Amber Counseling, we believe that everyone is entitled to quality and affordable care. This is why all of our clinicians take insurance and/or offer a sliding scale fee structure. Sliding scale is income based so we will need a copy of your most recent paystub is required to determine eligibility. We also offer occasional scholarships as grants are awarded.

Regular psychiatric evaluations are a critical part of ensuring that you can cope effectively with the stresses and pressures of life. We work with each client to carefully identify any mental health issues and treat them through scientifically proven methods that offer relief for those most in need.

Agnieszka is an Approved Clinical Supervisor and has received numerous trainings on supervision and consultation. She has also served in various positions throughout the State of Colorado which makes her uniquely qualified as a supervisor and consult. We offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), the use of ketamine as a complement to psychotherapy. We deliver KAP in our practice together with our prescriber, Donna Strickland, who specializes in determining eligibility for KAP, prescribes ketamine, and supports monitoring outcomes. What is Ketamine?

Ketamine is a synthetic pharmaceutical compound, classified as a dissociative anesthetic. It is one of the most widely used drugs in modern medicine and is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines. It was developed in 1963, FDA approved in 1970, and adopted by many hospitals and medical offices because of its rapid onset, proven safety, and short duration of action.

In the last two decades, ketamine has been increasingly clinically applied at subanesthetic doses as an off-label treatment for various chronic treatment-resistant mental health conditions, such as depression, alcoholism, substance dependencies, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and other psychiatric diagnoses.

Our prescribers, Husam Alex Salih and Abigail Purdum, now offers SPRAVATO®, the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression. It reduces depression symptoms when two or more oral antidepressants haven’t worked. Please schedule an appointment with Alex or Abby to find out if you are a candidate for it.
